Industry
Prince Edward County is one of the leaders in Southside Virginia when it comes to industrial growth due to its unique central location. The County is within one day's drive of 76% of the population of the United States. The opportunity for jobs has steadily been increasing each year.
The area is growing thus making jobs available to citizens from all walks of life. The Walmart SuperCenter, Lowe’s, and Barnes & Noble, are just three of the more recent retail opportunities. Midtown Square in downtown Farmville is a newly developed multi-use strip mall where there are many shops on the lower level with Longwood University student housing above.
