Prince Edward County Mass Casualty Unit
As part of their 40th Anniversary celebration, Prince Edward County Volunteer Rescue Squad unveils a state of the art addition for their continuing efforts to provide emergency services to the citizens of Prince Edward County.
In a joint effort made possible by the Prince Edward County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Hampden-Sydney College and Longwood University, on November 13, 2008 the new Mass Casualty Unit was unveiled to the public in front of the County Courthouse. Also purchased using a grant from the Payne Foundation, is a Special Events vehicle specially sized for the High Bridge Trail State Park, as regular sized ambulances would not have accessibility to the Trail. This unit will also be used during such events as the Heart of Virginia Festival.
