Recycling

Prince Edward County offers recycling opportunities at all seven of the County's manned convenience centers. Materials currently accepted are as follows:

  • newspaper
  • plastic (Types 1-7)
  • cardboard
  • scrap metal, including refrigerators and freezers
  • tires
  • electronics

County recyclables are transported and processed by the following:

Elite Recycling in Brookneal

  • Newspaper, plastics, cardboard, electronics

J & J Recycling in Farmville

  • Metal

Emmanuel Tire in Appomattox

  • Tires

Additional community recycling opportunities are as follows:

  • Antifreeze, oil - Check with local auto shops.
  • Car Batteries - Check with J & J Recycling.
