Boards & Commissions

A democracy relies on its citizens to share their time, energy and expertise with the rest of the community by serving on various civic boards, commissions and committees. There is no better way to become actively involved in government and to serve fellow citizens than by becoming a member of one of these important panels. You can download and print a Citizen Volunteer Application, or contact us by mail, telephone, email or in person if you'd like to volunteer.

To provide maximum opportunity for citizen participation in our local government, it is the policy of the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors to advertise vacancies on county boards, commissions and committees, etc., which call for citizen representation.

Board of Supervisors

The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room in the County Courthouse, 111 N. South Street, Third Floor, Farmville. Learn more about the Board of Supervisors.

Planning Commission

The Prince Edward County Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room in the County Courthouse, 111 N. South Street, Third Floor, unless otherwise advertised.  Click here for Planning Commission meeting agendas and minutes.
