What We Do
The Department of Community Development consists of the Planning/Zoning and Building Departments. These departments manage and regulate building within the locality to ensure safety, sustainability and community well-being. This includes, but is not limited to enforcing county and state regulations, reviewing development plans, enforcing the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes and issuing construction permits.
