Board Members Attend 2026 VACo Annual Summit in Richmond

On August 13, 2026, (left to right) Supervisor Jerry Townsend, Supervisor Odessa Pride, Ed.D., and Supervisor Pattie Cooper-Jones, along with County Administrator Doug Stanley, attended the 2026 Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) Annual Summit in Richmond.  During the Summit, they joined county leaders from across the Commonwealth to hear directly from Governor Abigail Spanberger and members of her Cabinet about issues affecting Virginia's localities and the communities they serve.  The Prince Edward County delegation also advocated for the needs of our community, including additional state funding and resources, protecting local decision-making authority on land use issues, and sharing Prince Edward County's priorities directly with state leaders.  Participation in the Summit provided an opportunity for Prince Edward County to stay informed on issues at the state level and advocate for the interests of our citizens.
