February Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors Meeting Cancelled

Prince Edward County, VA– In an abundance of caution, the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. has been cancelled and all public hearings scheduled for that meeting have been postponed until the March Board of Supervisors meeting. The postponed public hearings on its agenda, are as follows:

  1. An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 70 (Taxation) of the Prince Edward County Code to add and amend the requirements for Land Use applications.

     

  2. Pursuant to Section 15.2-2507 of the Code of Virginia, the Board will consider amendments to the FY25 County Budget and the FY25 County School Budget in the amount of $15,405,000.00 to draw down funds from the VPSA School Financing Bond series to pay for the Elementary School Renovations that exceed funding currently available in the County’s FY25 budget.

     

  3. An ordinance amendment to amend Appendix B - Zoning of the Prince Edward County Code Section 2-1000.3(B)(5) in order to allow for commercial kennels by Special Use Permit in the CR, College Residential District.

     

  4. A Special Use Permit request by Lindsay Mulvey for the purpose of establishment of a commercial kennel on Tax Map Parcel 049-7-10, located at the end of Oliver Lane, Farmville, VA, which is zoned CR, College Residential.

     

  5. A Special Use Permit request by Kevin Wilson on behalf of Cardinal’s Roost LLC for the purpose of establishment of a commercial campground on Tax Map Parcels 121-A-22 & 121-A-23B, located on the south side of CC Camp Road (State Route 737), approximately 0.40 miles from its intersection with Virso Road (State Route 633), which is zoned A1, Agricultural Conservation.

     

  6. A Special Use Permit request by Gabriel Solar, LLC for the proposal to construct and operate an 80MWac solar energy facility with 120 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) on land totaling 1196.77 +/- acres denoted as Tax Map Parcels 104-A-8B, 104-3-1, 104-3-2, 104-1-1, 113-A-36, 113-A-34, 113-13-8, 113-13-15, 113-12-1, 113-12-2, 113-11-4, 113-A-25, 114-A-18, and 114-A-19 located on Falkland Road (State Route 632), Mt. Pleasant Road (State Route 633), Virso Road (State Route 633), and New Bethel Road (State Route 634), which is zoned Agricultural Conservation (A1) District.

     

  7. Pursuant to §15.2-2316.8(B) of the Code of Virginia, consideration of a siting agreement by Gabriel Solar, LLC, related to an 80MWac solar energy facility with 120 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) on land totaling 1196.77 +/- acres denoted as Tax Map Parcels 104-A-8B, 104-3-1, 104-3-2, 104-1-1, 113-A-36, 113-A-34, 113-13-8, 113-13-15, 113-12-1, 113-12-2, 113-11-4, 113-A-25, 114-A-18, and 114-A-19 located on Falkland Road (State Route 632), Mt. Pleasant Road (State Route 633), Virso Road (State Route 633), and New Bethel Road (State Route 634).

 

All of the public hearings have been postponed and will be re-advertised for the March 11, 2025 meeting.  Additionally, adjoining landowners will receive a new notice of the rescheduled public hearing.
