Howard Recognized as January 2026 County Employee of the Month

Howard Keeps County IT Systems Reliable and Secure

FARMVILLE, Va. (January 28, 2026) – At its January meeting, the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors recognized Shawn Howard, Director of Information Technology, as the County’s January Employee of the Month.  Howard, who has been with the County about two and one-half years, was nominated for his outstanding customer service and his ability to troubleshoot technology issues efficiently, while maintaining a high level of service for County staff.

As IT Director, Howard oversees the County’s technology infrastructure and supports critical systems that enable day-to-day government operations. His leadership and hands-on approach help keep services running smoothly while adapting to the evolving technology needs of a local government organization.

“Shawn’s dedication and technical expertise make a daily impact across every department,” said County Administrator, Douglas P. Stanley. “His proactive approach and calm problem-solving style help ensure that County operations remain reliable, secure, and responsive.  He consistently goes above and beyond, and this recognition is well deserved.”
