PETITION TO DISPOSE OF
ABANDONED AGRICULTURAL/ EQUINE ANIMAL
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Va. Code Section 3.2-6569 that a hearing will be held in the Prince Edward County General District Court, 111 N. South Street, 2nd Floor, Farmville, VA 23901, on September 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., on a petition of the County of Prince Edward for the determination under that statute of one brown horse, male, with black stockings, dark brown mane, age unknown, approximately 1200-1500 pounds; caught and trailered at 24870 Prince Edward Highway, Rice, VA on September 5, 2025; temporarily held by Prince Edward County. The County is now deeming this animal abandoned within the terms of the statute. The County is seeking entry of an order by the Court for the proper disposition of this animal as authorized by the statute. Any persons interested in this matter including anyone claiming ownership of this animal shall appear at said hearing.
