NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CONCERNING THE INTENTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY

OF PRINCE EDWARD, VIRGINIA TO PROPOSE FOR PASSAGE A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF UP TO $25,000,000 IN PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF

GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE DESIGN,

ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION, AND EQUIPPING OF PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES

 

Notice is hereby given to all interested persons of a public hearing of the Board of Supervisors (the “Board of Supervisors”) of the County of Prince Edward, Virginia (the “County”) at a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the County to be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the Board of Supervisors Room in the County Courthouse, 111 N. South Street, Farmville, Virginia 23901, concerning the intention of the Board of Supervisors to propose for passage a resolution authorizing the issuance of up to $25,000,000 principal amount of general obligation school bonds of the County. The proposed uses for which more than 10% of the total proceeds of the Bonds are expected to be used is for school capital projects, including, but not limited to the renovation and improvement of the Prince Edward County Elementary School and other capital improvements to school facilities, including costs of issuance of the Bonds, all of which constitute capital projects for public school purposes. The Bonds are expected to be sold to the Virginia Literary Fund.

Persons may appear and present their views at the public hearing. A copy of the full text of the resolution is on file in the office of the County Administrator, 111 N. South Street, 3rd Floor, Farmville, VA 23901 and is available for public inspection during normal business hours.
