Clerk of the Court

The Clerk serves as the recorder of deeds, plats, and estate, issues marriage licenses and is the official court administrator for all civil and court cases. This office also creates and maintains all court files and records, prepares court orders and jury lists, contacts jurors and issues summons and court processes.

Virginia Circuit Court Online Payment System

The Virginia Circuit Court online payment system allows payments to be made online to participating Virginia circuit courts for eligible cases. (Effective November 1, 2018)


Secure Remote Access

Our real estate records, judgments, financing statements, wills, and marriages are available online via our Secure Remote Access website. Viewing images requires a subscription.


Available Records

The following records are available online:

  • Land Records: Indexes from 1/1/1916, images from 1/1/1940
  • Judgments, UCC's (Financing Statements), Marriage Licenses, Wills: from 1/1/2001 to present

Please Complete the "Subscriber Application" and "Subscriber Agreement", and have it notarized, then email both documents to Jodi Reynolds at jbreynolds@vacourts.gov, with a copy to Jessica Dedmond at jdedmond@vacourts.gov, and return the original by mail. Your account will be activated as soon as possible.
