Employee of the Month, August 2024, Cleveland Love

FARMVILLE, Va. (August 14, 2024) –At its August 13, 2024 meeting, the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors had the pleasure of recognizing the County’s August Employee of the Month, Cleveland Love, a seven-year employee of the Solid Waste Department who works at the Rice Convenience Site.  Mr. Love was nominated for this recognition by County resident Marshall Womack.

“I am a citizen of Prince Edward County and have been taking trash to county landfills and sites for 40+ years,” said Marshall Womack.  “I nominated Mr. Cleveland Love for Employee of the Month as he is the most helpful county employee that I have ever encountered. He always greets you and has a smile on his face. No matter how hot or how cold, or whatever the weather, Mr. Love never fails to be of assistance, which is especially important to us older county residents.”

“Mr. Love is a team player and supports our citizens and his fellow employees,” said Jeffrey L. Jones, County Solid Waste General Manager.  “The Rice Convenience Site is the busiest in the County and he does a terrific job managing the traffic on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.”

To be considered for Employee of the Month, an employee must demonstrate at least one of the County’s core values:  Customer Service, Teamwork, Innovation Initiative, Attitude Displayed, and Positive Action.  If a Prince Edward County citizen wishes to nominate a county employee for Employee of the Month recognition, please contact Crystal Baker at 434-392-8837.
